How to Choose the Right Internet Plan
The internet has become part of our daily lives, and we all use it differently. Based on how you and your family use the internet, MTA has a range of plans available, so you never pay more than what you need.
Considerations before you choose a plan
Internet isn’t a one size fits all, and everyone has different needs. So before you choose a plan, there are some easy questions you can answer to help you determine how much data you need, and what speed is best for you.
How many people share your home?
First, you’ll want to estimate how many people will be using your internet at the same time. Cell phones, iPads, laptops, desktop computers, smart TVs, and gaming consoles all usually require the internet. The more people you have, and the more devices you have in your home, the faster internet plan you’ll need.
How do you use the internet?
Next, think about how you use the internet. Are you doing a lot of high-bandwidth activities? Those are things like streaming HD videos, downloading large files, video conferencing, or multi-player gaming. All of these activities use up more of your bandwidth, which means a higher speed plan will provide a better experience.
How important is video quality?
You’ll also want to also think about how important video quality is for you. If you have a beautiful new HD or flat screen TV, a faster plan will deliver a high-quality picture so you can enjoy the TV’s graphics to the fullest. Even if you have a 4K capable TV, if your internet speed is low, you might only be streaming in standard definition.
