COVID-19

A Message From MTA CEO, Michael Burke

As MTA heads into the end of another year, we can reflect on the challenges Alaskans continue to face. The current situation has tested our community, but you are resilient.  MTA’s commitment to keeping you connected has remained steadfast.

Here are just a few of the steps we have taken as a commitment to you:

  • Modified Retail Hours: To keep our employees comfortable and safe while accommodating as many of our members as possible, our new location at the Shoppes at Sun Mountain is open for walk-in service with limited hours throughout the week. Please click here for the most up-to-date hours.
  • 24/7 Local & Friendly Support: Your connection is more important than ever before, so we want to be there for you anytime you need us. Give our local, friendly staff a call at 907-745-6821.
  • Meaningful Community Investment: Investing in our community has always been a core principle for MTA. During this time, we are proud to see so many organizations leaning into technology to further the positive impact within Alaska. We continue to make meaningful contributions throughout our great state. If you are part of an organization making a difference that aligns with the mission of MTA, please request support here.
  • A Healthy and Protected Workforce: Ensuring we can continue to provide our membership with connectivity is of the utmost importance. We are proud that our employees have taken the necessary steps to promote business continuity by following the CDC guidelines and getting vaccinated. At the time of this letter, over 65% of our employee workforce have at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Having a safe and healthy workforce allows us to continue to expand our network, install your service, answer your calls, and greet you in our lobbies.

Though these are uncertain times, we have seen moments of inspiration across our state. We have learned so much this past year about our membership, our employees, and our community. We are honored to be the ones keeping you connected to your loved ones, your careers, and your education during this time.

Stay safe,

Michael C. Burke, CEO
